I am often asked how to overcome self-sabotage, and it is a very important topic to address. Let’s dive in!
Self-sabotage comes in many shapes and sizes; it is definitely not a one-size-fits-all type of deal and shouldn’t be addressed as if it was.
Maybe you can relate to self-sabotage as preparing yourself to make a change, but your fear gets in the way and stops you from taking action.
Maybe you can relate to self-sabotage as starting something new and giving up early because you didn’t see results fast enough.
Or maybe you can relate to self-sabotage as psyching yourself out about chasing your goals because you keep telling yourself you will never get there, only putting yourself further behind.
Girl, you MUST stop thinking like this.
Easier said than done, I know. Trust me, I know all too well.
If you have been following my journey, you know I started my business 3 months after graduating college. This was a long-term dream of mine, but with the cards I was dealt, I knew I had to take action right then and there and not wait.
However, there were doubters.
“Courtney, you are 22. What the hell do you know about life or business to OWN a business”.
“Courtney, that’s a little too ambitious. There are lots of good companies out there that you could work for”.
Well, I said F*** what others had to say, BUT I hid all my doubts and fears that I was battling internally. It wasn’t healthy.
The key to getting out of your own way is BELIEVING you can accomplish what you want in life. If you don’t believe you can do it, then you’re right. You won’t.
But believing you can changes everything.
If you start telling yourself you CAN, then you are also right, because you WILL.
Next time you feel like you’re in your own way, tell yourself to move. That’s it.
Just MOVE.
