I have a lot to be thankful for this year, and I am going to attempt to put it into words.
2018-2019 was my first year operating LCN Events full-time and it was filled with some of the most humbling milestones and memories. I truly cannot believe it’s real.
My first full year in business brought me 10 amazing couples, each with their own unique story and journey that led them into their next chapter by saying “I Do”. From Toledo, to Cleveland, to Dayton, to Florida and beyond, I am forever thankful they trusted me with one of the most important days of their lives. As I book into 2020 and 2021, I hope to continue to build relationships with my couples and serve them beyond their wedding day as more than “just” their wedding planner, but as someone who will be there as their lifelong friend.
2018 and 2019 brought me two consecutive Best of Weddings awards from The Knot, all thanks to my loving couples, their friends, families and my wedding pro community. I couldn’t have done it on my own, and a younger version of me’s dream has continued to become my reality. I remember being an intern at a resort four summers ago and discovering The Knot magazine, hoping one day my name would be written between the pages. Two years in a row, this community has made that possible.
Unbeknownst to me, I received news that LCN Events was nominated for Toledo City Paper’s Best of Toledo award for the Event Planner category, and a few weeks after, by the grace of God, LCN Events made the cut to be named a finalist. People have asked me how I feel about this achievement, and I always answer the same: “it hasn’t hit me yet”. I am in AWE y’all. In AWE of the endless love and support you all have shown me. You can vote DAILY for LCN Events under the “services and places” category now through December 18 https://toledocitypaper.com/best-of-toledo-2019/.
These amazing milestones are enough to be thankful for, but this community didn’t stop there.
Because of you, I went on to start a Podcast that has shared my journey and I get to touch the lives of others daily through faith.
Because of you, I went on to start a business + lifestyle coaching program that allows me the opportunity to help aspiring creative entrepreneurs build the life and business of their dreams.
Because of you, I am in the process of waiting to hear if my submission has been chosen to speak at multiple industry + business events in 2020.
Because of you, my book is in the final stages of being drafted. I am waiting on God to tell me how to end the last chapter.
And because of you, your love, support and graciousness; I have turned my biggest weakness of vulnerability into my biggest strength and am proud to share my story- the good, the bad and the ugly- and be the light to others by speaking my faith.
2019 was unlike anything I could have dreamed, and it’s not over yet!!!
If you’ve made it this far; I don’t know that the words “thank you”, “thankful”, “grateful”, “humbled”, “honored”, “I appreciate you” truly capture all of my heart behind what I’m trying to say, but I want you all to know that it takes a village.
Owning and operating a business has been THE most difficult challenge (yes, even greater than my medical journey), THE biggest fear I’ve overcome, and at the same time, THE most rewarding decision I’ve ever made.
So to all of you, thank you.
Thank you for supporting my dream.
God Bless 💛🙏🏽
